Associate

Angela supports the content, planning, and analysis of Reboot Nigeria’s research activities. She is focused on exploring the social and cultural dynamics that enable communities to advocate their interests among diverse stakeholders.

A natural interviewer with a passion for inquiry, Angela supported a variety of research projects in the Niger Delta prior to joining Reboot. Working with the World Bank, she explored the role of information and communication technologies in combating urban crime and violence. She also examined the issue of HIV among rural youth for the Centre for Population and Environmental Development. Earlier, Angela worked as a data analyst at the British Council in Nigeria’s capital of Abuja, where she focused on a community policing initiative in Edo and Ondo states.

Angela is an active contributor to social policy discussions in Nigeria. Her essay “The Role of School Social Workers in National Development” was carried in the International Journal of Development Studies. More recently, she presented on the topic of social service awareness among university students at the Nigerian Association of Social Work Educators inaugural conference. Angela is the President of the School Social Work Association of Nigeria and a member of the Nigeria Association of Social Workers.

Angela is a graduate of the University of Benin, where she focused on social work. She is currently completing a Master of Science in Social Work at the University of Nigeria. She is the first Rebooter to have launched a motorcycle taxi business, but don’t expect her to personally take you anywhere-she has never driven one before!
