Associate

Janessa is a strategic thinker with experience directing innovative communications and advocacy campaigns, managing dynamic teams, and building organizations. Her work focuses on the intersection between international development, national security, human rights and technology.

Janessa has consulted on a range of projects for nonprofit, government and corporate clients, including the Department of Defense, the Office of Opinion Research at the Department of State, Campaign Consultation, Inc., the Foreign Service Institute, and {think}CUBA.

Before Reboot, Janessa served as the national spokesperson for an advocacy campaign highlighting the critical role international development plays in America’s national security. Earlier, she directed cutting edge advocacy and media campaigns around mass atrocity prevention for the Save Darfur Coalition and the Genocide Intervention Network.

Janessa’s use of emerging technologies and innovative grassroots initiatives to affect political realities—at the state, federal and international level—have been featured in The New York Times, The Washington Post, CBS Evening News, and others.

Janessa is a graduate of Northwestern University. She is also a Senior Fellow with the Alliance for Youth Movements, a Truman National Security Project Partner, and a National Board Officer with New Leaders Council.
