The Reboot Team

Design Intern

Yessi supports the production of Reboot’s creative outputs across a range projects.

Passionate about using design for changemaking, Yessi has created compelling visual communications for a number of social causes. She led the front end development, branding, and communications strategy for Sheridan College’s Mission Zero campaign, which aims to drastically reduce the institution’s waste in 2013-2014 and eliminate waste altogether by 2020. She played a similar role with Our Green Change, a community advocacy initiative to create a healthier, more prosperous, and just neighborhood in the Jane and Finch area of Toronto.

Yessi has also designed and built a number of socially-minded apps. Les Plasticiens, which launched at the Varley Art Gallery in May 2013, makes use of rich storylines and interactive game play to create a more engaging gallery experience for youth. Cultivating a Niche Community, which similarly targets youth, provides an interactive guide and toolbox to develop local communities. More recently during Startup Weekend Chicago, Yessi co-founded Appy, a therapy tool that uses artificial intelligence to encourage users to reflect on their feelings.

Yessi is currently a student at the York University and Sheridan College Joint Design Program, where she focuses on visual communication and interaction design. When she is not in full design mode, you can find Yessi practicing community arts, studying lean startup methods, or contributing to her blog.
