Partnerships & Outreach

• Establish strategic partnerships with public sector, civil society, and international development organizations who share Reboot’s visions and values.
• Manage existing partnerships and relationships.
• Manage Reboot’s appearances at public events and produce a small portfolio of Reboot’s own events, including workshops, conferences, and other gatherings of like minds. (Yes, these include rooftop happy hours.)
• Maintain and optimize a relationship management strategy across Reboot practice areas and projects.

Communications

• Manage the editorial calendar for theReboot.org, working with a team of core and guest contributors to develop engaging, meaningful, timely content.
• Promote and distribute key publications and content to target institutional audiences.
• Lead on external communications about Reboot initiatives and client work on a per project basis.
• Create and manage a strategic social media communications plan.
• Develop overarching media outreach strategy for Reboot publications and content, and manage media relationships for the Reboot brand.

Qualifications

• A distinct, no-jerk personality. Our team is made up of delightful people, and you must be one as well.
• An outstanding, persuasive communicator in all forums and channels.
• Tangible confidence. We’re looking for the type that is comfortable striking up a conversation with strangers in any environment.
• Experience in press outreach and an understanding of the media ecosystem that Reboot operates within.
• Demonstrated experience explaining or otherwise communicating about complex issues.
• Ability to be self-directed and stay on task even when unsupervised.
• An eagerness to work in a start-up environment.
• Comfortable with controlled chaos. Changing deadlines and last-minute requests are all part of the game.

Experience

We’re open to a wide range of profiles. This role may be suited for someone who has taken a more traditional career path, and is looking for a professional job in a vibrant, socially minded setting. A few musts we do need to see:

• A proven track-record handling high-level communications projects.
• Demonstrated examples of risk-taking, even if things turned out poorly.
• Experience building and maintaining partnerships with large institutions and organizations in the public sector.
• Experience working with international partners and clients.
• Startup experience is a plus

Terms

This position is currently offered as a three-month, part-time contract to start, allowing everyone an opportunity to ensure the relationship is a good fit. We are, however, looking to hire someone for a long-term, full-time engagement after the trial period — someone that wants to grow with us. We’re looking for the ideal candidate to start immediately.

Reboot offers a competitive compensation package, with profit-sharing in addition to base salary. When we benefit, so will you. Ideally, you’ll be working part-time with us in our lovely office in downtown Manhattan. For the right candidate, we are wiling to consider a telecommuting arrangement for the first three months.
