Graphic Design Intern

Reboot brings the power of great design to the challenges of our times. By aligning the resources of institutions with the needs of the people they serve, we design innovative new services and improve existing solutions in the areas of global governance and development.
Reboot’s Communications Design team is currently seeking a Graphic Design Intern (Summer) who is an inspired visual communicator, with a passion for using their design skills to change the world. This internship runs from late May through August 2013.
You are both creative and analytical. You can rally others in pursuit of a big-picture vision, but you also put in the hours to painstakingly nitpick over the details until they’re right. You want to take the skills you’ve learned in school and apply them to the work of hard-hitting world betterment. You’re jazzed about contributing to a growing team of inspiring change-makers.
Responsibilities:
- Support the creative visual design process for various internal and client projects, in close collaboration with our program, content and design teams;
- Create clear, compelling print and digital materials to present complex qualitative and quantitative data and concepts;
- Maintain company photo library and support photo editing, intake and archiving processes;
- Develop templates for communications collateral, including proposals and presentations;
- Contribute to maintenance and upkeep of company website;
- Reboot’s effort to establish and maintain consistent brand standards.
Successful candidates will have:
- A burning passion for visual design;
- Noted experience with print and web-based design;
- Great attention to detail;
- Demonstrated ability to transform complex data into persuasive infographics;
- Highly proficient in Adobe Creative Suite, especially InDesign, Photoshop, and Illustrator;
- Familiarity with WordPress, Adobe Lightroom, Adobe Bridge, AfterEffects and/or Final Cut Pro is a plus.
- Ace verbal and written communication skills;
- The desire to join a fast-paced team and contribute on day one;
- A genuine passion for Reboot’s unique vision and approach;
- A team-oriented positive approach and genuine interest in contributing our multi-disciplinary team of delightful people;
- A bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design or related field.
