Programs Intern

SPRING 2013

Reboot brings the power of great design to the challenges of our times. By aligning the resources of institutions with the needs of the people they serve, we design innovative new services and improve existing solutions in the areas of global governance and development.

You have superb qualitative and quantitative research skills, and are looking to make research more relevant, accessible, and usable for critical decision-making. This internship runs from February to May 2013. Interns are expected to work approximately 25 hours per week distributed over 3 days each week.

Responsibilities:

  • Support Reboot’s client engagements, with a particular emphasis on research, design, analysis, and documentation.
  • Assist in the design and execution of a Reboot research toolkit for governments and development practitioners.
  • Support knowledge management efforts across project, ensuring industry best-practices are effectively integrated into our work.
  • Support business development efforts by identifying new opportunities and preparing project proposals.
  • Assist in proactively managing project workplans and timelines.
  • Regularly contribute timely, engaging content to the Reboot site.

Qualifications:

The ideal candidate:

  • Has or is pursuing a Master’s degree in a relevant field (e.g. public policy, international development, business, economics) or possesses extensive work experience in a relevant field.
  • Has conducted research (with a focus on emerging markets), ideally for both public interest institutions (governments, NGOs, and think tanks) and private sector organizations.
  • Is a very strong communicator, both verbally and in written form. Is comfortable writing for a wide range of audiences, from briefing notes to senior policymakers to blog posts for a general audience.
  • Ability to work under tight time constraints. Can multitask with ease, manage ambiguity, and adapt to frequently changing priorities.
  • Above all, is entrepreneurial, has a can-do attitude, and thrives in a fast-paced environment even with minimal supervision.
