Matthew Looney
Program Fellow
Matt comes to Reboot with extensive experience in strategic communications and project management in the international development and public policy spaces. In Latin America, Matt advised USAID on the delivery of water and sanitation services to the rural poor. He has also examined how information and communication technology can improve relationships between governments and small and medium enterprises in developing countries. His philosophy on development is guided by design research and the critical importance of transparency and a business-enabling environment. Prior to New York, Matt was in Washington, DC, serving first as the Director of Development for a major civil rights non-profit, and then as a lobbyist and public affairs consultant for a private firm. A lover of words, he revels in opportunities to express complex ideas in simple terms. Matt holds an MPA from New York University and is now an adjunct faculty member at its Wagner School of Public Service.
